What you’ll be doing:

Join our reliable and community focused team doing hands on work supporting a volunteer emergency service. You’ll provide a range of administrative and operational support services within the Blue Mountains District, assisting with ordering stock, transporting equipment, operational readiness, equipment maintenance checks and recording of these activities.

The Blue Mountains District offers a unique and rewarding working environment where you will directly support volunteers who protect their communities. Working from the district office in Katoomba, you will be based in one of the most iconic regions in New South Wales, surrounded by a World Heritage listed landscape and strong community networks.


To thrive in this role, you will:

  • Be organised, adaptable and comfortable undertaking hands on tasks, including equipment handling, stock movement, and basic maintenance checks
  • Work effectively with others, communicating clearly and providing responsive support to our volunteer and salaried members as well as other stakeholders
  • Be able to balance multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate confidence using technology and information systems to maintain accurate records and support operational activities
  • Take pride in contributing to a safe, efficient workplace that supports frontline emergency operations
