Position Available: Diesel Mechanics

Location: Wingfield, SA

About the Role:

We’re seeking experienced Casual Diesel Mechanics to join our team in Wingfield, SA. You’ll work alongside a supportive crew maintaining our Mack and Kenworth fleet, using your skills to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with precision.

This casual role offers flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle—work full-time hours or just a few days. Shifts are Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays and on-call work (allowances apply).

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct mechanical assessments, fault diagnosis and repairs on Mack and Kenworth Trucks
• Service and maintain trucks, trailers, and dollies in line with workshop procedures
• Repair or replace brakes, suspension, steering systems, and major engine components
• Perform welding and grinding on chassis and comb rails of flat-top trailers
• Complete auto-electrical work on 12V and 24V systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimise downtime
• Order and install replacement parts in line with manufacturer specifications and quality standards
• Develop and update preventative maintenance schedules
• Maintain accurate service and repair records in line with company procedures
• Adhere to all safety protocols and promote a safe working environment

Skills and Experience: 

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic working on heavy vehicles and trailers
• Australian-recognised Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification
• Proven experience working on MACK and Kenworth trucks
• Full Australian work rights (no restrictions)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong understanding of safe work practices
• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual tasks
• Reliable, motivated, and a collaborative team player
