Advertising Summary: Virginia Commonwealth University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position in the Athletic Ticket Office with an emphasis in ticket operations. This position is for the 2026-27 academic year; beginning late August to early May. The Graduate Assistant position is designed to train and gain experience while assisting with daily operations of an intercollegiate athletics ticket office.

Department Summary: VCU Athletics’ mission is to win conference and national championships, provide a first-class student-athlete experience, serve as a source of pride for the University and community and cultivate graduates who excel as leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Assist with ticket counter and inbound phone sales for Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball and other special events using the Paciolan Ticketing System

• Participate in Men’s Basketball game day operations by overseeing will call and conducting walk-up sales

• Assist with reconciliation of event sales and help with reporting of revenue generation, event attendance and ticket-related donations

• Serve as Box Office manager and supervise game day ticket operations for assigned sports 

• Build events, promo codes, group sales links and other ticketed items to sell on VCUAthletics.com

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Director for Ticket Operations

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Acceptance into a VCU graduate program 

• Prior work experience in intercollegiate athletics 

• Strong customer service skills and organizational skills 

• Experience in cash handling

• Valid driver’s license and vehicle to transport self and student workers to off-campus events

• Evening and weekend hours required; 20-25 hours per week.

Salary Range: Scholarship varies

There are two (2) open positions within Ticket Operations. This graduate assistant position for 2026-27 will be open until filled, and review of applications will begin immediately.
