Advertising Summary: The School of Pharmacy is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach a 2-credit hour elective course focused on veterinary pharmacy during the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 semester. This elective course will provide second and third year pharmacy students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to non-human patients including canine, feline, and equine species. Instructor responsibilities include development of the course syllabus and course content, presentation of course content, use of Canvas as the course learning management system, grading of all assignments, and submission of course grades. The course may be delivered in-person or remotely. Qualified candidates outside of the Richmond area are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required
  • Completed residency training in veterinary pharmacy
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Doctor of Pharmacy students
  • Practice and teaching experience in veterinary pharmacy practice

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience, with a minimum rate of $1,437 per credit hour.
