About this Position
Langston University, a Historically Black College & University (HBCU) and member of the NAIA Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics – Compliance. This high-energy, full-time administrator will assist the Director of Athletics in managing key areas of the department including compliance, academic advising support, event management, and student-athlete services. The ideal candidate will be a positive, energetic leader who can navigate a fast-paced environment while upholding NAIA and university standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Act as department lead in the absence of the Director of Athletics.

Implement and oversee compliance policies, procedures, and education for staff and coaches.

Ensure adherence to university, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.

Monitor and coordinate required NAIA compliance reporting.

Provide academic advising support for student-athletes.

Assist with executing departmental budget, fundraising, event planning, and internal relations.

Coordinate major department events (e.g., Langston Hall of Fame Luncheon, Homecoming, HBCU Softball Hall of Fame Classic).

Lead department-wide professional development efforts.

Organize meeting spaces for student-athletes, coaches, and departmental functions.

Oversee scheduling of event management personnel (ticket takers, officials, concession staff, etc.).

Coordinate and implement game operations for all sports.

Collaborate with the Athletics Administrative Assistant to ensure timely payment of invoices, officials, and dues.

Assist with maintaining department and team inventory records post-season.

Support major events such as athletic awards receptions, preseason media days, and Homecoming.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience using Microsoft Calendar.
