About this Position
The Scholarship & Retention Coordinator supports undergraduate student success within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) through coordination of scholarship administration and the development of student retention programs. This position works closely with the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Engagement (ADAPSE), CEAT coordinators, staff, and faculty to implement initiatives that enhance student engagement, connection, and progression toward graduation.
Key responsibilities include the coordination of CEAT scholarship processes—reviewing applications, managing award notifications, maintaining scholarship records, and communicating with students regarding eligibility, policies, and timelines. The Coordinator collaborates with the ADAPSE, who oversees final scholarship selections, and works with donors and the OSU Foundation to ensure effective stewardship.
In support of CEAT’s retention goals, the Coordinator develops and manages programs for both the general student population and specific groups, including but not limited to Summer Bridge students, transfer students, first-generation students, and veterans. This position also leads the CEAT Tutoring Program by hiring, training, and supervising tutors and managing day-to-day operations.
Additionally, the Coordinator oversees the CEAT Mentoring Program—hiring, training, and supervising peer mentors and the student manager, ensuring strong mentor-mentee matches, supporting ongoing communication, and purchasing necessary supplies.
The Coordinator may assist with CEAT events and activities requiring occasional evening, weekend, or travel availability. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and student service skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities that directly impact student persistence and success.
