About this Position

The Director of HR Consulting Services serves as a strategic catalyst for advancing OSU Human Resources’ mission and strengthening the university’s organizational culture. This leader empowers HR professionals to build trusted, results‑driven partnerships across campus, the OSU-System, and our A&M institutions—ensuring HR is a proactive, high‑value resource at every level.

In this role, the Director coaches and develops a team of HR consultants to anticipate and address complex employee relations matters, navigate evolving workforce dynamics, and influence organizational practices that support a positive, equitable, and high‑performing work environment.

This position oversees a broad and critical portfolio, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, absence management, international employment, workers’ compensation, and policy interpretation—ensuring consistency, fairness, and excellence in HR service delivery.

The Director of HR Consulting Services provides leadership in maximizing contributions of OSU Human Resources by guiding HR professionals to build productive business relationships with assigned units of campus, the OSU-System, and our sister A&M institutions. This position will coach and mentor professionals to proactively address employee relations issues and monitor or change structures to actively engage the changing workforce. Areas of responsibility include employee relations, performance management, compliance, absence management, international employment, workers' compensation, and policy interpretation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Human Resources Management or related field (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 7 years of professional HR experience including leadership and supervisory experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Experience in resolving difficult employee relations issues. Knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, workers' compensation and/or other related employment laws. Competencies: 1. Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Business or Human Resources
  • Higher Education experience preferred.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    SPHR or SHRM-SCP
