About this Position
The Coordinator of Student Services supports student success through comprehensive advising, mentoring, and program coordination within a grant-funded or academic support program. This position works closely with the Grant Manager to deliver high-impact advising, research and enrichment opportunities, graduate school preparation, and program services that promote academic achievement, persistence, and career readiness.
The successful candidate will provide individualized academic advising, monitor student progress, coordinate workshops and seminars, support undergraduate research and internships, and assist with program administration, assessment, and reporting. This role requires strong communication skills, collaborative engagement with faculty and campus partners, and a commitment to supporting diverse student populations.
Key responsibilities include academic and graduate school advising, facilitating educational programming, coordinating research dissemination, maintaining advising documentation and data systems, assisting with student supervision, and supporting project evaluation and federal reporting requirements.
This position is ideal for a student-centered professional with experience in academic advising, student development, or higher education administration who is passionate about mentoring students and advancing educational access and success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Higher Education, Educational Administration, Psychology, Counseling, or related field (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- One year of related experience

Four years direct experience related to academic counseling. Experience designing and implementing developmental programs for students. Experience working with members of groups underrepresented in higher education and/or low-income, first-generation college students, and an understanding of the barriers these individuals face in achieving educational and personal goals are required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and constituents (students, staff, administrators, volunteers). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective written and oral presentations and successfully communicate with people at all levels of the organization. Experience with Microsoft software, web-based systems, and knowledge of computer research techniques (statistical software and database use/management).Previous experience in TRIO programs or other entities providing services to underrepresented populations in higher education. Previous experience in career planning, group facilitation, workshop design, social-interpersonal development, and understanding of basic research designs. Knowledge of the graduate school admissions process and financial aid.
