About this Position
This position provides OSU Agriculture with the coordination and management of the division’s payroll and human resource related operations. The OSU Ag HR office serves and supports approximately 1,000 + employees located both on and off campus across our division’s central administration, departments, units, centers, Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Services (OCES) and research stations. This position is part of a highly cooperative team that contributes to the efficient operation of OSU Agriculture known for local, state and global impacts. The division’s business and administrative operations umbrella is comprised of human resources, sponsored programs and financial services working closely to best serve our employees with dynamic and resourceful core teams.
This coordinator position has several operational responsibilities and serves as a primary liaison to all of OSU Agriculture. Primary responsibilities include:
- Fully coordinating and managing monthly and bi-weekly payroll submissions division wide including training, facilitating, coordinating, advising to final submission.
- Advising departments on payroll and human resource related questions to communicate and interpret policy guidance and confirm best practices are being followed and implemented.
- Closely working with OSU Payroll as the division coordinator to oversee all Ag departmental payroll items and projects, aiding in resolving system deficiencies and reviewing for process improvements.
- Managing all payroll transactions, forms, procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with OSU policies, guidelines, federal and state laws.
- Additional duties will include recruitment and onboarding needs tied to payroll, leave, salary etc.
- Ensure data integrity and provide actions and/or guidance as appropriate.
- Serve OSU Ag to process and facilitate new hires, changes, various payment needs and provide payroll guidance.
- Provides consultation and advice on a variety of payroll and HR related issues and concerns including various employment actions, leave scenarios, DOL and FLSA rules.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and employees at all levels.

Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
General (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Six years of professional experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and multi-task, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines. Detail-oriented. Must possess critical thinking skills to assess and create solutions. Must be able to correctly interpret policies and procedures and to provide excellent customer service with both verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior OSU work experience in a position involving customer service by demonstrating a positive attitude, willingness to help, and used critical thinking skills to avoid or solve issues quickly. Working knowledge of the OSU Banner HRS System.
