About this Position

The Spears School of Business Senior Manager of Fiscal Operations leads the Research and Financial Services team, overseeing critical financial functions that support the college, including purchasing, financial reporting, and account reconciliation. This role ensures efficient and compliant financial operations while delivering high-quality service to departments across the college.

As a key resource for faculty and staff, the Senior Manager provides expert guidance on purchasing policies, allowability of expenses, and foundation-related matters. The position also plays an important role in communicating updates related to purchasing processes and policies to the college.

Working closely with the Director of Business Operations, this position also supports strategic initiatives, strengthens financial practices, and helps ensure the college’s fiscal health and operational effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    In accounting or business administration or a related field 

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Six years of related and progressive work experience such as bookkeeping, accounting, or purchasing

Must possess good technical skills including database development and management and have a financial background. Must have good communications skills; have the ability to interact with people in a friendly, business-like manner; have a strong customer service orientation; and the ability to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Works with numerous individuals including faculty, staff, students, and various administrators throughout the OSU community. Must handle numerous deadlines simultaneously and be flexible to changing priorities. Must be proactive and be able to handle difficult situations and supervise effectively. Knowledge of Quick Books and Excel preferred. Must have solid problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Business or related field
  • Three years of related professional work experience in an academic setting. Three years supervisory experience.
