About this Position

This position provides financial support for Student Union (SU) operations. This position will perform a variety of accounting activities applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, as well as preparing financial reports to ensure accurate accounting records. Specifically, this position is responsible for accounts payable and receiving all tender types from SU operations (approximately $19 million), preparing daily deposits in accordance with the cash control policy, recording of transactions on correct reports and schedules, and then performing daily and monthly reconciliations of all accounts. Due to weight of coin sacks, must be able to lift 20-30 pounds. All other duties as assigned. May require working late hours or some weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 3 years of related clerical/customer service experience. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Have knowledge of accounting procedures. Strong organizational skills are required. Must have excellent people skills and willing to help others. Must maintain confidentiality in working with students' accounts. Requires accuracy and ability to handle cash in a competent and responsible manner. Able to deal with diverse public and explain policies and procedures with consistency. Ability to read, interpret and apply written information to daily work Skilled in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and 10-key and knowledge of the University Systems. Must be highly dependable. Position requires a high level of accuracy.
