The Student Union Activities Specialist is responsible for holistic advisement and support to student leaders within the Student Union Activities Board (SUAB) at Oklahoma State University. This position plays a key role in guiding student members through the planning, execution, and evaluation of campus events while fostering their personal and professional development. This role supports student development by providing guidance through weekly meetings, assisting with leadership training, and aligning student activities with career readiness initiatives. The position also leads marketing strategies and social media efforts, assists with data collection and assessment practices, and contributes to strategic planning and evaluation. Administrative responsibilities include maintaining inventory records, ensuring compliance with university purchasing guidelines, and supporting collaborative efforts across campus units.
Required Qualifications
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated, translatable coursework, or experiential learning.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and coordinate numerous detailed programs that may occur within a short time frame of one another.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate successfully with multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to assist in program set up and take down, including but not limited to moving tables, chairs and other equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's
- One year of experience in student development, advising, coaching or related area.
