Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. ⁠This position participates in a regular on-call rotation and may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to support operational needs.

About this Position

The Database Administrator serves as a member of the IT Enterprise Operating Systems team and works under the direction of the Assistant Manager for Database Application Support to provide operational and technical support for the Oklahoma State University/A&M Banner ERP Oracle database environment, application software and integrated systems.

This position supports and maintains the university’s Banner ERP database environment and related systems by installing, troubleshooting, and optimizing applications, databases, and automated processes. The position also ensures system reliability, data integrity, security, and operational support while collaborating with developers, end users, and IT teams to support enterprise technology services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
    • Two (2) years of related experience.
    • Additional post-secondary education beyond requirements may substitute for years of required experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work and function within a team environment 
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks under strict timelines 
  • Willingness to stay current on new and emerging technologies 
  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends as needed 
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts 
  • Working knowledge of SQL, scripting and procedural programming concepts 
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's
  • A bachelor's degree in computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field of study is preferred.
