Position Details: The Extension State Program Specialist is a staff member of the 4-H Youth Development unit and is administratively responsible to the Assistant Director, 4-H Youth Development. The Extension State Program Specialist provides statewide leadership for 4-H Healthy Living, curriculum and educational resource development, youth leadership through State 4-H Ambassador programs and selected statewide 4-H events and initiatives.
The specialist provides vision and coordination for innovative, research-informed programs that help Oklahoma youth develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to lead healthy, productive lives. The position collaborates with Extension professionals, university faculty, volunteers, youth, families and external partners to identify emerging needs, strengthen educational opportunities and document program impact.
Extension educators comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.
Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance and available funding.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited university in youth development, education, health education, family and consumer sciences, human development, community development, leadership or a closely related field
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

- Five (5) or more years of successful professional work experience.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Valid driver's license required. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating educational programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with youth, Extension professionals, volunteers, faculty, community organizations and external partners.
- Effective written, oral, interpersonal and digital communication skills.
- Willingness to work within a flexible time frame which may include evenings and weekends and be willing to travel throughout the district, state, and occasionally out of state.
- Willingness to transport youth, volunteers, and co-workers when needed.
