Position Details:
The successful candidate will join the finance team to provide financial services, complete financial-related processes, and perform tasks for multiple units/departments as assigned. This individual will support the Finance Team Manager and team. This individual will prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, revenue analyses, expense analyses, encumbrance analyses, and assist with budget development and control with an emphasis on grant-related finances, for the units/departments they serve. The successful candidate will perform accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, purchasing, and budgeting. This position will work with the unit/department heads, faculty members, staff, and students on the status of departmental and grant accounts. The successful candidate will also work with other finance team staff, as well as other Finance and Business Operations staff within the Division. Accountant I or II title placement will be decided upon at the time of hire based on education and experience.
The office consists of a small and efficient team where members regularly work independently and in teams. The team invites new ideas and strives for a willingness to work with others. Routine meetings occur with faculty and staff in conference room settings. The ability to work in conference rooms as well as a personal office is a must.

- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Knowledge of GAAP; principles, accounting standards, fund accounting principles, and federal and state regulations and the ability to apply knowledge in appropriate job responsibilities Knowledge and practical application of generally accepted methods and practices related to accounting and finance activities Accuracy and attention to detail Able to exercise great initiative independent judgment Ability to maintain confidential information Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously Critical thinking skills necessary to analyze problems and formulate solutions Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English and prepare complex reports on deadline Requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members and the public, using diplomacy, discretion, and independent judgment Computer skills: Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, in addition to e-mail and MS Teams
