Position Introduction:
The PAVE Team Leader is a student leadership role focused on helping fellow student veterans feel connected, supported, and informed. In this position, you’ll help guide Peer Advisors, share helpful campus and community resources, and support programming that builds community and awareness. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping others, working as part of a team, and creating a positive impact on campus.
The role of the Team Leader is to manage the PAVE program on their campus, which includes implementing targeted outreach; being an ambassador for the program; developing on- and off-campus resources; supporting Peer Advisors; and monitoring program activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Help recruit and train new Peer Advisors
- Help identify veterans who would benefit from participating in PAVE
- Identify on-campus, VA, and community resources for use by Peer Advisors and student veterans
- Serve as a campus ambassador for PAVE, creating awareness of the program and the issues facing student veterans
- Review logs created by Peer Advisors and help with connection to additional resources
- Hold bi-weekly meetings with Peer Advisors
- Document PAVE activities using the online reporting structure
- Relay pertinent information to appropriate university staff
- Plan educational and social programming

Required Education:
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Qualifications:
- Military service
- Good academic standing (2.5 or above GPA)
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead and also work as part of a team
- Insight about transition challenges
- Awareness of campus services, and federal and community resources
- Can engage with and motivate people from diverse backgrounds
Time Commitment:
- Co-facilitate local training sessions and meetings
- Make a minimum commitment of two semesters
- Dedicate approximately 8-10 hours weekly to program activities
- Participate in scheduled calls with PAVE National Team Program staff
