Position Introduction:
The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education's Transformative Tutoring Initiative is seeking a full-time mathematics tutoring team member for the Transformative Tutoring Initiative (TTI) on our Tulsa Campus. The Tutoring Team members' primary responsibility is to deliver weekly training/preparation sessions in mathematics for tutors who work with 9th grade students using a set curriculum that has been developed and edited over 5 years. Additional responsibilities include monitoring tutoring activities at school sites and supporting research protocols. in this role, you will play a crucial part on conducting cutting-edge research in the field of high school mathematics and transform students' perceptions of mathematics. You will work with the Tutoring Team Leader and will report directly to the director. The ideal candidate will have a background in middle school or high school mathematics, and excellent communication skills. Experience leading professional development would be excellent. Core Duties:
- Deliver tutor training/preparation sessions using curriculum developed by the team over the past 5 years.
- Lead tutor training/preparation sessions on Mondays or Fridays, in-person, on campus.
- Help tutors develop math strategies that promote understanding of middle school and algebra math concepts using hands on manipulatives.
- Provide detailed feedback on tutor performance and support ongoing tutor development.
- Travel to school sites independently on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each school week to monitor tutoring activities.
- Coordinate with school site staff and attend weekly meetings with research and tutoring team staff.
- Assist with administering assessments and consenting research participants at school sites.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Requisite Skills:
- Proficient in middle school math concepts, including fractions, integers, number lines and area models as well as all early algebra topics.
- Proficient in using Algebra Tiles and Fraction Tiles to develop a conceptual understanding of mathematics.
- Ability to develop and implement effective mathematics teaching/learning practices.
- Ability to develop professional and respectful relationships and participate in open communication with tutors, faculty, and team members.
- Ability to create engaging training/preparation sessions for tutors.
- Disposition for embracing growth and development in this role.
- Experience with CANVAS, PowerPoint, and Qualtrics preferred.
- Well organized and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in varied settings and locations as determined by research goals.
- Ability to drive to and from school sites reliably.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 48 months of program development, program management or related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
Department Preferences:
- State teaching certificate in mathematics.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
