The Student IT Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Price College of Business IT team by assisting faculty, staff, and students with technology-related issues. This position provides hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for IT equipment in classrooms, labs, and offices while ensuring excellent customer service. Hours are Flexible, based on class schedule, with availability during core business hours. Must be available for periodic training sessions and team meetings. Expected to follow OU IT policies and maintain professionalism when assisting faculty, staff, and students.

Required Education and Experience:
- Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
- Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Required Certifications and Licenses:
None
Department Preferences:
- Experience working in a helpdesk or IT support role (formal or informal).
- Familiarity with classroom A/V technology (projectors, microphones, interactive displays).
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, troubleshooting connectivity issues).
- Experience with OU IT systems, such as JAMF, CrowdStrike, and other endpoint management tools.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (e.g., laptops, monitors, small IT hardware).
- Provide first-level IT support to faculty, staff, and students via in-person, phone, or ticket-based requests.
- Assist with classroom technology setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including projectors, computers, microphones, and other A/V equipment.
- Support and maintain laptop vending kiosks, ensuring devices are properly managed and available for checkout.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware on university-owned devices.
- Assist in the management of IT inventory, including tracking loaner equipment and reporting missing devices.
- Provide guidance on OU IT policies, security best practices, and software tools available for faculty and staff.
- Work closely with full-time IT staff to document technical issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, ensuring classrooms and workspaces maintain reliable connectivity.
- Support student-use computer labs, ensuring systems are operational and available for academic use.
- Contribute to special IT projects, including testing new technologies, helping with upgrades, and researching solutions.
