Position Introduction:
The Oklahoma Biological Survey is a research unit of the University of Oklahoma that is committed to providing the best available information on biodiversity in the state of Oklahoma. We are also committed to training students and the public in biodiversity science. To accomplish this mission, and the mission of the university, we are looking for a talented individual to serve as our Outreach Coordinator and Natural Areas Program Specialist. This position will be responsible for our department’s public interactions, both online and in-person.
What you will do:
- Coordinate outreach events, including the department’s 100-year anniversary celebrations.
- Maintain our department’s website and social media accounts.
- Write our department’s quarterly eNewsletter.
- Manage the Oklahoma Natural Areas Registry, a voluntary landowner conservation program.
- Make site visits across the state to access properties for their conservation value.
- Assist with biological surveys.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 24 months of related research experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
