Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Support:

  • Be the go-to resource for payroll-related inquiries.
  • Provide excellent customer service to financial services and other operations staff across the campus.

Process Enhancement:

  • Continuously improve payroll processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.

Timekeeping Expertise:

  • Review various timekeeping accounting details, ensure accurate entries and procedures, and communicate with stakeholders across campus.

Payroll Processing:

  • Responsible for coordinating/running the payroll processing in conjunction with the Senior Accountant.
  • Manage/report retirement withholding accounts to relative retirement accounts.

Voucher Approval:

  • Validates payment information entered for entry accuracy.
  • Communicates with clerical staff for necessary corrections.
  • Approves vouchers for payment.

Cost Transfers:

  • Prepares payroll journals for each PFT cycle to post liabilities on 789 funds.
  • Resolves any errors on payments or journal processes on OUHSC and OMES side.

Backup:

  • Serves as back up for other payroll processing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required to ensure the overall success of the department.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.

Department Preferences:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • PeopleSoft Experience
  • 18 hours of Accounting at a College Level
  • High level of verbal and written skills in communicating in English
