Position Introduction:
The Office & Community Engagement Assistant provides administrative and program support to The Mission by assisting with client intake, office operations, communications, volunteer engagement, and special events. This position serves as a welcoming first point of contact for clients, volunteers, donors, and community partners while helping ensure the office operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, dependable, and enjoys serving others in a nonprofit environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet clients, volunteers, donors, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with client intake, including completing forms, collecting information, and directing individuals to appropriate services.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and general inquiries.
- Provide administrative support including filing, data entry, copying, scanning, and maintaining records.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment, scheduling, communication, and appreciation activities.
- Help coordinate volunteer orientations and provide support during volunteer service opportunities.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and supporting fundraising and community events.
- Prepare event materials, registration packets, signage, and other resources as needed.
- Assist with social media updates, newsletters, or other communications when requested.
- Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional office environment.
- Perform other administrative and program support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student in good academic standing.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
