| This position will be working in the Library Makerspace, on the main floor of Bizzell Memorial Library. Workers in this position will interact with students, staff, and faculty as the libraries continue supporting research and instruction with hands-on technology and creative tools. In this role, workers will greet patrons, demonstrate equipment capabilities, troubleshoot basic issues, and guide users through the workflows for various technologies including introductory 3D scanning, 3D printing, Virtual Reality, Cricut cutting machines, and related design processes. We are looking for a collaborative and highly organized graduate student who is passionate about research, mentoring, and helping students successfully navigate the path to graduate school.
The role of the Graduate Assistant is to support the program’s mission through program recruitment, assistance with program activities, and development of mentoring relationships with program participants. Graduate assistant appointment includes: a full waiver of graduate tuition (student is responsible for paying associated fees), a bi-weekly stipend, and health insurance coverage. Graduate Assistants are required to work an average of 20 hours per week. Work schedule may vary. |

| Student Library Assistants in Bizzell Memorial Library 5th Floor Special Collections provide assistance to patrons using the History of Science Collections, the Bass Business History Collection, the John and Mary Nichols Collections, and the Bizzell Bible Collection. Duties include staffing the Welcome Desk and the Research Desk, greeting visitors, answering telephones, explaining reading room rules, and paging books for patrons. Student employees may also assist with digitization projects, filling interlibrary loan requests, stacks, maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Student employees may be asked to work an occasional evening or Saturday event. |
