Insurance Compliance Advisor

The Compliance Advisor role involves supporting the Insurance business to understand and manage their Compliance and Regulatory Risks. This exciting role also involves developing and advocating the desired “voice of risk” in the business to improve risk capability and maturity throughout Insurance, through Obligation and License Management activities and Regulatory Change.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of centre of excellence for Obligation Management and Regulatory Management across Insurance, in line with Group Risk Frameworks
  • Supporting the delivery of License Management activities across Insurance, and cross-functionally within the Suncorp Group
  • Supporting strategies for Compliance Maturity across Insurance.
  • Provide compliance subject matter expertise by process type to all Insurance.
  • Build and manage trusted relationships with the Insurance Business.
  • Reading, interpreting regulatory change, writing summaries and impact assessments
  • Supporting the Business in planning Regulatory Change
  • Contributing to papers for various Risk & Compliance Committee and Board

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in general insurance
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within Risk related business areas
  • Experience with change management frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory and legislative environment governing the provision of financial services in Australia
  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management methodologies and practices and their application in a 1LOD environment
  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management methodologies and practices
  • Experience working with stakeholders at various levels of an organisation
