Senior Software Test Engineer

About the role

The role of Senior Software Test Engineer exists to work with the team to develop and provide guidance on how to integrate all types of testing throughout the SDLC ensuring that the quality of the solution and results meet Suncorp’s requirements. The Software Test Engineer is responsible for driving and delivering automated testing frameworks based on industry best practice and principles. The Software Test Engineer will mentor and guide other Software Test Engineers and are accountable for testing output. 

What you'll do

• Provide thought leadership in QA practices, and continuously drive improvements.
• Lead and execute testing strategies, process improvements and standards.
• Ensure that the relevant levels and types of testing needed to produce quality software (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, security, accessibility, compatibility, maintainability, etc.) are executed and planned into the delivery lifecycle.
• Support the creation, maintenance and reuse of test artefacts.
• Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests to meet delivery milestones.

What you'll bring 

• 5+ years’ experience in a Senior/ Test Lead role
• Strong Experience in UI and API automation testing
• Ability to create and maintain automation frameworks for API, Web, Security & Performance Testing  
• Good knowledge of various programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python)
• Previous experience leading and mentoring junior Test Engineers
• Automation experience in Playwright/Cypress
