The Role
- Provides effective leadership and management to achieve the defined objectives of clinical services within the Surgical and Perioperative Services stream and provides the Nursing Director with high quality and authoritative advice and support.
- Ensures optimal standards of clinical practice, patient care and the patient experience, through clinical support, strong operational leadership, sound analytical planning and negotiation skills.
- Leads reform to improve access to services within the clinical stream, with initiatives to improve access to emergency and critical care, reduce waiting times, and enhance patient outcomes. Ensure the highest standards of service delivery are achieved in accordance with hospital policy, directions, service standards and financial performance targets.
- Works collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders across the clinical stream in ongoing development and maintenance of a culture conducive to multi-disciplinary teamwork. Build trust through consistent actions, values and communication.

Classification: Registered Nurse, Grade 8, Level 4
Salary $149,807 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Holds a relevant post graduate tertiary qualification and can demonstrate application of the acquired knowledge base to achieve nursing service improvements and organisational outcomes aligned to the hospital wide professional requirements of the position
Under particular circumstances employees may be required to undertake a new conviction check.
