The Role

We currently have a Mechanical Engineering role within our Asset Management Services team, which can give you the opportunity to deliver effective and efficient asset management outcomes for Melbourne Water’s Sewerage Transfer Network and Treatment Plants.  This role has a blend of working from our 990 La Trobe Street Head Office, field/site based work and opportunities to work from home.

These roles will require you to apply your own critical thinking, technical skills, co-ordination and oversight of a complex program of technical projects in collaboration with the broader business.

The main duties will include:

  • Developing, reviewing/improving preventative maintenance programs applied to various mechanical engineered assets
  • Reviewing data identifying reoccurring trends and issues
  • Lead risk based maintenance analysis (via RCM, RBM, FEMCA studies) and investigate asset issues (via RCA studies)
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. updating monitoring programs via the use of new technologies)

Your Skills and Experience

• Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options, influence decision making and provide guidance

• Knowledge and application of technical and general asset management processes/techniques (e.g. RCM, RBM, FEMCA) and condition monitoring related to large and medium scale infrastructure assets.

• Knowledge of mechanical assets typically used within the water industry.

• Coordination, prioritisation and time management skills to deliver on long-term objectives while managing day-to-day challenges within tight timeframes and work unsupervised.

• Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• A Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering and professional engineering registration in Victoria (or actively working towards becoming registered).
