About the Role

Reporting to the Program Lead Delivery, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Delivery Support Officer Fire you will be responsible for: Ensuring the safety and readiness of our Fire Management operations through administrative support. 

  • Coordinating the annual recruitment of Melbourne Water's Project Fire Fighters (PFFs) which includes ensuring promotion, shortlisting, interviews, and pre-season training are met according to agreed timelines. 
  • Ensure that medical assessments and Task-Based Assessments (TBAs) are completed for all Melbourne Water fire fighters before they commence on the availability roster. 
  • Conduct fire deployment and seasonal reviews for all fire management teams to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Regularly review and update fire management administrative documents to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. 
  • Provide prompt and effective response and contribution to Melbourne Water's firefighting organisation, including fire response activities. 
  • A valid Driver’s Licence, proficient in the use of a manual vehicle, as this role requires occasional travel.
  • Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
  • A firefighter task-based assessment will be required for this role as well as a fit for emergency medical. 

About you:

  • You have an understanding and experience in processes and procedures relating to fire fighter recruitment, training and on-boarding 
  • You have a proactive approach to safety, including working under pressure and in emergencies, and readiness for adverse weather conditions. 
  • Proficient in software platforms such as Fireweb, E-learn, Inflo, Excel, and Word. 
  • Have the ability to take a leading role in problem solving and initiating continuous improvement. 
  • Able to build effective relationships with stakeholders within and external to the organisation 
  • Must reside permanently within 25 mins driving time of Work Centre- Healesville 
  • Be available for out of hours availability (24 hour a day recall to work) and out of hours emergency response (when rostered) 
  • Be available to go on a fire roster during the fire season 
  • Annual Leave over the Summer fire period will be restricted

This roles primarily based from Healesville Work Centre, Healesville.  You will be required to travel to other Melbourne Water Offices and sites in the East of Greater Melbourne.
