About the Role

This fixed term contract is through to June 2026. As the Drinking Water Quality Improvement Program Practitioner you will be responsible for implementing Melbourne Water’s Drinking Water Quality Improvement Program (DWQIP). Based from our Preston site this role reports into the Drinking Water Quality Improvement Program Lead as part of the Quality & Process Improvement Team. This role will operate in a complex environment, and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders will be critical to the delivery of project outcomes.

About you:

  • Project management experience, including in managing multiple strategic projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and an ability to pursue agreed objectives and use sound problem solving skills to overcome obstacles.
  • Drinking Water processing or quality management experience advantageous.
  • Experience in incident and change management advantageous.
  • Experience with implementation of risk and quality management systems.
  • Proven ability to work at both a strategic and detailed level.
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or science and expertise gained in previous positions
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass both a Criminal Record check and an AusCheck

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck.  This role is deemed critical, and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
