Who we are

In Melbourne, water is essential to our way of life.

As caretakers for Melbourne’s water cycle, and our catchments. We care for water, life, and land throughout Melbourne: both its people and its biodiversity.

Each time you drink from the tap, flush a toilet, or kayak down the Yarra we’re there. Primed and ready, quietly delivering some of the world’s cleanest water for over five million residents and wildlife that call Melbourne home, just as we have for over 130 years.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Group Coordinator to join the Corporate Services portfolio. This is a critical role that enables the Corporate Services leadership team—particularly the CFO—to deliver on strategic and operational priorities.

Sitting at the centre of the division, the Senior Group Coordinator is a senior coordination and support role that works across the Corporate Services leadership team to ensure the effective delivery of group programs, work plans, and reporting obligations.

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), the role provides end-to-end coordination, governance, reporting, and executive support to the Senior Leadership Group (SLG) and People Leader Group (PLG).

  • Support the Corporate Services SLG by providing high-level administrative support.
  • Lead and coordinate project related tasks and general administration as agreed with the CFO.
  • Executive diary and inbox management.
  • Administration and Coordination of the monthly People Leader Group (PLG) operational meetings to ensure a cohesive dashboard is presented to track Corporate Services (CS) progress against reporting such as QBR’s, Plan on A Page, and Productivity program initiatives.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Group Program and/or Work Plans across Senior Leaders (SLG and PLG) including financial, administrative, system and information management and customer service-related activities.
  • Lead, develop and deliver group reporting against agreed performance and timeline targets, including management and monthly reporting.
  • Work with CFO on shareholder management (VAGO/DTF/DEECA/DGS etc.).

For more information, please refer to the attached Position Description

The impact of this role is broad and highly influential, supporting senior leaders and shaping how work gets planned, tracked, and reported across the group.

About you:

This role will suit a highly organised and proactive professional with strong experience supporting senior leaders, ideally in a fast-paced corporate or public sector environment.

  • Proven experience providing high-level, confidential support to executives (e.g. CFO/SLG), including diary, inbox, and briefing coordination, within a finance or corporate  services environment would be desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively across senior leaders (SLG/PLG), internal teams, and external stakeholders (e.g. government bodies) to drive outcomes.
  • Experience supporting Board and Sub-Committee papers, ensuring outputs meet governance and quality standards.
  • Capability to lead and coordinate project-related tasks and contribute to cross-functional initiatives in a structured way.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate complex Group Programs and Work Plans across multiple senior leaders, ensuring alignment and delivery to deadlines.
  • Strong experience in preparing monthly reports, dashboards, QBRs, and tracking, with the ability to highlight risks and insights clearly.
  • Experience managing purchase orders, invoices, and financial admin processes (e.g. TechOne), ensuring compliance and timeliness.

To be successful in this role you will bring a blend of executive support, program coordination, and reporting expertise, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
