About The Role

This full-time role is based from our Werribee water treatment plant.

As the Project Delivery Lead, you will oversee the delivery of minor projects through the Enhancing Infrastructure Maintenance Delivery (EIMD) contract, working closely with our internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget, while meeting business quality and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery and governance of Minor Capital projects within your assigned portfolio
  • Act as the main point of contact for project delivery in your area
  • Scope, price, schedule, and oversee projects with the EIMD Service Provider
  • Engage with project initiators, governance committees, and stakeholders for seamless handovers
  • Review project scopes and cost estimates to ensure value for money
  • Manage project risks, disputes, defects, and variations
  • Prepare monthly reports on financials, scheduling, and project progress
  • Ensure operational and financial close-out of projects, including documentation and maintenance regimes
  • Prioritize site safety and apply innovative safety practices
  • Provide technical advice to various teams and service providers
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and generative safety

About You

Your Skills and Experience 

  • Mechanical, electrical, or civil knowledge related to water and sewerage systems is a plus
  • Experience in industrial/construction project, delivery, contract and change management
  • Strong project management, financial estimation, and budgeting skills
  • Risk identification, assessment, and control capabilities
  • Excellent consultation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to deliver high-level customer service and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Understanding of health and safety management systems and processes
  • Experience with asset management systems (e.g., Maximo) is advantageous

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck. The role of Lead information Management is deemed critical and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
