About The Role

Reporting to the Manager Logistics – you will oversee day‑to‑day building maintenance, plan and deliver minor capital refurbishments and office asset renewals and assist in various requests internally as required.

You will monitor budgets and drive continuous improvement whilst ensuring exceptional customer service to stakeholders and contractors, being the central point of contact for building and asset management related requests.

This will be achieved through:

  • Ensuring strong customer focused outcomes and building strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective services including maintenance and minor capital.
  • Overseeing the facilities function of the maintenance program by the service provider is integrated, enhanced, balanced and continuously improved to deliver the best outcome for operations, customers and key stakeholders
  • Organising and prioritising both customers and stakeholders to achieve service delivery objectives and facilitate safe operation of facilities
  • Triaging service requests, set clear priorities with the team and drive exceptional performance across our sites.
  • Standardise processes, embed leading practice in works management and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
  • Driving the planning, scheduling, communication and delivery efforts of service providers in coordination with the landlord, contributing to the coordination of work schedules.
  • Applying technical expertise in facilities to identify problems, devise appropriate solutions, and adapt to new situations with sound judgment.
  • Managing Docklands Facilities service offering and resolve facilities queries efficiently and ensure works are carried out within agreed timeframes to maintain a fully functional site.
  • Ensuring the safety and general wellbeing of self and others by following health and safety procedures, identifying and reducing hazards, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You’re an experienced facilities professional with a service minded focus.

You are efficient, proactive and adaptable with the ability to prioritise urgent requests whilst managing multiple and competing priorities and requests.

You’re able to promptly navigate risks with a results driven mindset, communicating clearly and setting the tone for safety and service.

Essential skills & experience you will bring to the role-

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a Project Management background or managing a multi-level office or commercial building *highly regarded
  • Solid operational facilities management experience, including ESM and building compliance, plus working knowledge of Victorian codes and standards (NCC/BCA).
  • A track record delivering minor works/projects, with sound judgement on safety, quality, environmental and commercial risks.
  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management, with confident negotiation and customer focus.
  • The ability to juggle competing priorities while meeting agreed service levels.
  • Experience with Maximo, MS Office and other asset information systems.

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional background checks via AusCheck. The role of Lead information Management is deemed critical, and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
