As the Security Architect, you will be part of the NAB Group Security team that’s doubling down on customer obsession.

 Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

  • To enable the business in changing IT systems and pursuing opportunities in a secure way; through the enforcement of security policies and by designing solutions that protect business value from security risks, threats and vulnerabilities
  • Bring core principals, conceptual and logical security models and controls for designing secure system solutions that protects business value and ensures the solutions are designed within the NAB risk appetite
  • Partner with senior management and project leaders in order to update the solution requirements to reflect the need for security
  • Provide thought leadership and Security Architecture subject matter expertise in a consultancy style to enable the Business and Project teams to understand impacts from proposed system changes and solutions
  • Analyse the non-normative flows through systems, applications and proposed solutions to identify risks, security threats and vulnerabilities in order to identify required security control components and countermeasures
  • Deliver the conceptual and logical security design abstractions to form the Security Architecture for solutions – considering the business drivers for security and outline controls related to domains such as Identity and Access, Data and Media Protection, Security Information and Event Management, Communications, Configurations, and Vulnerability Management
  • Manage significant architectural decisions with senior management, sponsors and projects to ensure secure outcomes and appropriate governance practices are adhered to

 

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar senior Security Architecture role and/or experience as a Solution Architect with significant Security exposure coupled with in-depth Technology Industry experience
  • Proven experience in cyber security or engineering roles, with a focus on cloud and/or application security
  • Deep understanding of security principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and their application in cloud and application security within the banking industry
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to develop security tools, automate security processes, and perform security assessments
  • Experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and code reviews to identify and address security vulnerabilities
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and the ability to work closely with development teams to implement security controls throughout the SDLC
  • Breadth of experience working in large complex organisations and start-ups
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues, propose effective solutions, and drive their implementation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, APRA) related to security in the financial industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP) are highly desirable
