  • Opportunity for internal academic for a 3-year fixed period secondment

About the Role
The Director of Innovation & Enterprise Program delivery and Support will be part of a team delivering the innovation goals of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS) Advancing Health 2030 Strategy, and will report to the Associate Dean Innovation and Enterprise (ADIE).
The appointee will coordinate the development and delivery of innovation and entrepreneurship education programs, to expand the commercialisation and research translation capabilities of MDHS staff and students. The Director will provide leadership in developing an engagement strategy to foster a culture of innovation, translation and commercialisation within the Faculty.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and delivery of MDHS innovation and entrepreneurship education programs and initiatives.
  • Provide leadership of engagement initiatives focussed on developing an innovation and enterprise culture within MDHS.
  • Provide research translation and commercialisation mentorship to researchers and students.
  • Advise the ADIE and Faculty leadership on innovation and enterprise education strategies including as the Chair of the MDHS Internal Steering Committee.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for people who demonstrate innovation, entrepreneurship and social values. Experience in these spaces, including partnerships with external stakeholders, will be beneficial, but is not essential.

You will also have:

  • The ability to establish networks effectively with representatives from medical research and business partners and internally within the University.
  • Experience in designing and delivering entrepreneurship education programs in health.
  • Experience mentoring researchers in translating their research.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
