Who are we?

CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnels and Stations package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail.  Cross River Rail is a 10.2-kilometre rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.  The project also includes construction of four new high-capacity underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street station.


About the opportunity
:

We are currently recruiting for a Controls Systems Engineer, to join the Commissioning & Completions team on Brisbane’s Cross River Rail TSD JV project.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the controls engineering during the construction phase of the project satisfies client scope and technical requirements and is inherently safe and practical to build within the budget. The Senior Controls Systems Engineer is also responsible for implementing and governing the project controls framework to ensure the timely management of project deadlines and  clear co-ordination of internal team and external consultants.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing the design from related packages (civil, architectural) and resolving issues as they become apparent.
  • Auditing of documentation to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring of activities against the program and reporting progress.
  • Providing support to the Construction delivery team as required.
  • Technical resolution of problems identified during the construction phase.
  • Undertake projects works, initiatives, tasks as directed by the CPS M&E Engineering Manager.
  • Ensuring identified third-party relationships such as consultants or contractors are formalised in accordance with agreed procurement strategy.
  • Where applicable ensuring ongoing support to projects through regular communication and interface, ensuring knowledge capture.
  • Support the construction team through timely resolution of RFI’s, and review of vendor data for compliance purposes.
  • Implementation of the Post IFC design change process.
  • Interface management: input to the development of Construction ICD’s and resolution of interface issues with 3rd parties.
  • Input to the T&C process.

 Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • A recognised degree in control systems engineering or equivalent.
  • Eligible Membership of Institution of Engineers Australia (IEAust).
  • At least 6 years’ experience in large scale engineering/construction projects
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a site engineer or equivalent in large scale engineering/construction projects
  • At least 4 years’ experience in planning utilising P6
  • Knowledge in Electrical / Mechanical / Communication Engineering is preferred
  • Advantageous to have Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) qualification
