HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler to join the HumeLink West team where you will assist in ensuring constant up to date reporting of the project program status and provide expertise and advice to the project.

Please note this role will initially be based in Sydney, with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply.  Locally based applicants will be highly considered.   

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining processes for program and progress reporting, including dissemination or processes and standards
  • Prepare and control accurate and efficient program reporting (including schedule risk analysis)
  • Document agreed construction methodologies in accordance with the company’s procedures and particular client requirements
  • Actively contribute to the identification of, mitigation and response to project risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining standards and processes to ensure that program, progress and other scheduling data are maintained up to date in P6, including EV and cost and revenue cash flow requirements
  • Coordinate detailed monthly reviews of the project program with delivery teams and consolidate and compile project program reports

About You

  • Experience in a similar planning/scheduling role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience on complex, high-value projects within the Infrastructure/Renewable energy sectors
  • Proven experience with current industry standard planning software
  • Strong communication skills

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.

Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
