About Us

CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail.  Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD.  CGBU JV will deliver the underground works of the project, including tunnelling, four new underground stations, an over-station development at Albert Street and an above ground retail plaza at Roma Street.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Construction Director – Stations & Precincts, the Project Manager will sit within the Stations & Precincts project team.  You will effectively project manage the procurement and construction of the assigned project to ensure its completion in accordance with project objectives; including: design criteria, safety, profit, costs, quality, time and environmental management.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and reviewing construction planning and monitoring progress to ensure all elements of the project are on schedule and within budget; taking corrective action as required. 
  • Ensuring construction is undertaken in accordance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Develop procurement strategies and efficiently manage the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers with the designated area / discipline.
  • Ensuring adequate resources to deliver key project requirements in line with the programme, budget and contractual arrangement.

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Relevant experience in building construction at a senior level with a Tier 1 Contractor 
  • Demonstrated effective management of whole of project to deliver work
  • Commercial experience to include project planning through full project life cycle
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree or equivalent
