Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).

We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.

SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.

Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.

About the opportunity:

To support the delivery of the Suburban Rail Loop we have an opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join the Training team to help us ensure our people are trained, qualified and competent. 

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Training team.
  • Support the delivery of various internal training programs (i.e., booking, coordination, records management, supporting trainers and attendees etc.).
  • Facilitate the currency of the project’s training systems including personnel records, online bookings, training skills matrix, and e-learning modules.
  • Utilise the training systems to ensure individuals are only participating in work that they are competent and qualified to do so.
  • Assist with the creation, preparation, and control of training-related correspondence, documents, materials, and reports.
  • Act as a point of contact for onboarding related enquiries from all staff, workers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with all Training and project onboarding requirements as required.
  • Coordinate meetings which may include preparing agendas, invitations, minute taking, distributing actions and general organisational support.

  We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong administration experience, ideally with a focus on training.
  • Excellent MS office proficiency, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong personal organisation skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Flexible demeanour and able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Strong team focus.
  • Previous experience using training management system, desirable but not essential.
