The Project
Queensland Government-owned corporation, Sunwater is planning for the construction of a new dam wall immediately downstream from the existing Paradise Dam on the Burnett River.
The project is a large, multi-year project that will ensure a safe and secure water supply for the Bundaberg region for future generations.
The Technology and Digital Engineering Lead role is part of the Paradise Alliance, formed by Sunwater to deliver the Paradise Dam Improvement Project, with CPB Contractors / Georgiou appointed as major construction partner and GHD as the ongoing design partner.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage all aspects of technology and digital engineering delivery on PDIP, focusing on enhancing production efficiency, ensuring safety, and reducing costs through innovative digital solutions
- Develop and implement project standards, methods, and procedures in accordance with ISO19650
- Manage the automation of federating digital information and structured data models.
- Support construction teams by setting up PowerBi reports from PIM.
- Promote and develop improvements to enhance safety, reduce costs, and save time.
- Design and develop digital subsystems and control boards to automate digital reporting processes.
- Integrate digital subsystems within various project components (e.g., batching plants, crushing plants, quarries).
- Investigate, acquire, and implement innovative solutions using autonomous robots for machine control and operation.
- Conduct research and development in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as universities.
Requirements for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related AEC field, or suitable industry experience
- 10+ years' experience in delivering major infrastructure projects
- Experience in managing digital engineering through the design and construction phases of major infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in developing strategies for a full project lifecycle approach to digital delivery
- Knowledgeable of software programming
- Strategic thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient use of digital engineering technology, including data interoperability and information exchange processes
- Excellent management skills with the ability to influence and engage with all project stakeholders
- Ability to build strong relationships with project team members and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal with excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to manage peak work periods and delegate tasks effectively
- Commitment to safety and quality principles
Note this role will initially be based in our Alliance office in Brisbane but will transition to a full time, site-based basis. You must be willing to work on site either FIFO or DIDO.
