About North East Link  

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project. 

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project. 

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads. 

About the Opportunity

Are you an organised and proactive professional with experience in transport logistics? We are looking for a Transport Allocator to join our Spoils team. As a Truck Allocator, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient transport operations, planning routes and scheduling loads, rostering and managing drivers as well as monitoring fatigue management processes.

The key responsibilities of the Transport Allocator include but not limited to are:

  • Meeting scheduled Spoil departure times
  • Utilisation of driver hours to maximize efficiency
  • Ensuring the correct vehicle type is used to match customer needs
  • Ensuring fleet availability to meet maintenance schedules
  • Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring all transport operations comply with Company & Supplier terminal WHS Policies
  • Ensuring all operations comply with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue and Mass Management Legislation
  • Planning daily resource requirements in your area and ensure resource availability
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of staff numbers including employees and casual staff

Minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Previous experience in high volume fleet scheduling and route planning
  • Previous experience on a Tier 1 project or with a Tier 1 contractor
  • Understands load limits and axle weights
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with a transport background
  • WHS Certificate or Training completed is highly regarded
  • Full Driver's License
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to stakeholders and internal PM’s
  • Ability to be flexible on working hours
