Your opportunity

The Senior Occupational Hygienist is a key role within the SHES function responsible for providing support for the management of workplace health and hygiene hazards through identification, assessment and controls and providing expert technical advice and coaching to projects on anticipating, recognizing and controlling hygiene hazards. 

Additional accountabilities include;

  • Support the development of internal standards and guidance documentation to align practice with relevant government administrative policies and procedures  
  • Perform health risk assessments to drive best practice in occupational health risk assessment and management, and recommend control strategies   
  • Identify health monitoring requirements to those with increased risk of developing an occupational disease 
  • Develop training programs and other initiatives to achieve best practice in occupational health  

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

  • Formal qualifications recognised by the AIOH, with minimum of full membership (MAIOH) 
  • Strong understanding of health and occupational hygiene terminology, health assessment techniques, and occupational health and hygiene legislation. 
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Proficiency in database management and use of relevant software applications. 
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of work. 
  • Strong attention to detail, yet ability to see the big picture 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines 

This role supports the CPB Contractors business across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and will be based in one of your HQ locations.
