Suburban Connect is a consortium of global leaders in tunnelling including CPB Contractors, Ghella and Acciona Construction delivering the Tunnels South package on Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East, on behalf of Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
We have a broad range of roles available to build our diverse and inclusive workforce, including construction and engineering, planning and environmental management, corporate support, administration, communications and many others.
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill is now under construction, with tunnelling to start in 2026 and trains to be running by 2035.
Suburban Connect is constructing the 16kms of tunnels between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley using 4 tunnel boring machines and a range of excavation methods. The works also include 55 cross passages, 2 tunnel portal structures, 2 station box excavations and associated supports.
About the Opportunity
The BIM Coordinator will play a critical role in the planning, design, and construction phases of the Suburban Rail Loop project. You will be responsible for coordinating the digital modeling processes and ensuring that BIM standards and protocols are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Develop, implement, and manage the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for the SRL project.
- Coordinate with designers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that BIM models are accurate and up to date.
- Oversee the integration of BIM data and software systems, ensuring interoperability between different platforms.
- Provide technical support and training to project team members on BIM processes and tools.
- Conduct clash detection and spatial coordination reviews, facilitating resolution of identified issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and project documentation
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM coordination within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of BIM standards and protocols, especially ISO 19650.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
