What can our construction projects build for you?

CPB Contractors along with our industry partners has been selected as preferred proponent to deliver two major packages for the Cross River Rail Projects: the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) package and the Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and the CBD.

The RIS package is crucial to the overall delivery and success of Cross River Rail, and its integration with the Queensland Rail network.  RIS will be delivered by the UNITY Alliance which brings CPB Contractors, UGL, AECOM and Jacobs to deliver the full scope of works over the next two years. This includes:

  • Rail civil and electrical works
  • Brownfield rail surface works primarily to the north of the tunnel, including an upgrade of and a major augmentation of Mayne Yard
  • Upgrade of seven suburban stations to the south
  • Rail operational systems works
  • Rail signalling works and communication, and integration and commission activities.
  • New QR facility in the southern suburbs incorporating a stabling yard, driver change over crew room and a graffiti wash facility

Your opportunity

Reporting to the Project HR Manager, the Training Advisor will ensure the provision of effective and accurate training services, information and systems for the project.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist new and existing sites to conduct Training Needs Analysis and propose training that complies with client expectations and relevant legislation for that project.
  • Provide input on training related issues, as requested, into tender bids for new projects.
  • Provide systems training and assistance to sites, during project start up and as required
  • Assist Projects implement site Training Schemes
  • Where required provide end of month reporting statistics to Management
  • Where required, manage course budgets, participation statistics, and improvement requirements
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with Universities, RTOs etc to engage in the training and development of employees
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes

Our desired requirements for this role are:

  • Yr 12 certification
  • Tertiary qualifications in education, HR or related discipline (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in training administration, delivery & / or development
  • Coordinating Graduate Programs (and other entry programs)
  • Assisting projects to meet training targets including the engagement of trainees and apprentices
  • Increasing indigenous participation and supporting a company’s social inclusion policy
  • Coordinate CPB leadership and other programs across the Business Unit
  • Delivering Project Inductions
  • Coordinating leadership and other development programs as required by CIMIC/CPB
  • Delivering and assessing training solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build positive working relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong organisational skills and self-motivated
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
