The Riverina Redevelopment Join Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of exisiting infrustructure facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.
The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including;
- Albury Wodonga Military Area (AWMA)
- RAAF Base Wagga (RBW)
- Blamey Barracks Kapooka (BBK)
The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:
- Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
- Construction of new training and mess facilities
- Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
- Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your Opportunity
We are seeking motivated Senior HS Advisor to join our high‑performing project delivery team.
In this role, you will contribute to the achievement of the Safety and Health Objectives by ensuring that all staff and contractors comply with Statutory, Contractual and Safety Management System obligations.
Ensure an accurate, timely and responsive Safety and Health service is provided to the Project, through:
- Attending meetings to provide advice & guidance in respect of all S&H matters as follows:
- Team meeting
- Tender Review meetings
- Safety Team meetings
- Traffic Management meetings
- Risk Workshops
- Health & Safety Committee meetings
- Assisting in the delivery of Toolbox Talks ensuring the quality of content & delivery for safety topics
- Participate in weekly Safety Inspections and Task Observations with the project delivery team to provide advice, guidance and support in identification and rectification of issues.
- Supporting the use of, including undertaking monitoring and auditing of the records management system for safety records
- Reviewing Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and facilitation of SWMS development workshops where necessary
- Reviewing Contractor Safety Management Plans to ensure conformance to requirements
- Lead or participate in investigations, as requested by the Project Manager, into all accidents/incidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective/preventative actions
- Provision of support in delivery of Daily Pre-starts
- Assisting to compile data/evidence for monthly reporting
About You
- Robust understanding of State and Federal Construction Safety and Environmental legislation
- With at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrable experience of Safety and Environmental Management System implementation
- Practical application of Environmental controls High‑quality written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities with the capability to effectively manage, mentor, and guide a team of safety advisors.
- Skilled in delegating tasks, setting clear expectations, and ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance.
