The Riverina Redevelopment Join Venture is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of exisiting infrustructure facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years.

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including;

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (AWMA)
  • RAAF Base Wagga (RBW)
  • Blamey Barracks Kapooka (BBK)

The proposed capital investment of $1.7b will incorporate a variety of elements including:

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation
  • Construction of new training and mess facilities
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

Your Opportunity

 

We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisors to join a Managing Contractor team delivering a major Defence redevelopment program in the Riverina region.

 

This role supports the delivery of both vertical building works and associated infrastructure, within a highly structured, safety‑critical Defence environment. It is ideally suited to a supervisor who understands Tier 1 construction standards and thrives in collaborative, well‑governed project teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise site activities across building structures, services, and external works
  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and suppliers in accordance with construction sequencing
  • Lead site safety, ensuring strict compliance with WHS, environmental, and project requirements
  • Implement quality and inspection processes aligned with Managing Contractor systems
  • Interpret construction drawings, method statements, and construction programs
  • Participate in daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, and site reporting
  • Identify, manage, and escalate site risks as required
  • Maintain Defence site protocols, access controls, and secure work practices
  • Work collaboratively with Site Managers, Engineers, and broader Project Teams

About You

  • Proven experience as Site Supervisors on building and/or infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to Defence, government, or large‑scale institutional projects (highly regarded)
  • Solid understanding of construction quality systems and WHS legislation
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and subcontractor interfaces
  • Strong communication skills and confidence operating in structured delivery environments
  • Trade background and/or construction qualification (Cert IV, Diploma, or equivalent)
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required, with eligibility to obtain and maintain Baseline Security Clearance.
