At CPB Contractors, together with fellow CIMIC Group companies UGL and EIC, we're delivering the ground-up development of a major multi-megawatt data centre in Melbourne's western suburbs.

The 80MW facility will comprise two adjoining 40MW data centres featuring highly complex and integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security systems. The project also includes extensive external services infrastructure, modular electrical equipment installations, high-voltage works, civil construction and specialist facilities.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Surveyor to play a key role in the successful delivery of one of Victoria's most significant data centre developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and governance across all project survey activities.
  • Establish, maintain and verify survey control networks, gridlines, control points and critical project elements.
  • Coordinate cadastral requirements and engage Registered Land Surveyors as required.
  • Manage and audit subcontract survey activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and survey standards.
  • Conduct as-built surveys and quality assurance checks to verify installation accuracy and compliance with design tolerances.

  • Undertake and manage drone survey operations in accordance with regulatory requirements and CPB operational procedures.
  • Capture and manage 360-degree imagery through DroneDeploy to support digital project records and progress monitoring.
  • Perform terrestrial laser scanning for existing conditions, conformance assessments and as-built verification.
  • Collaborate with Digital Engineering and project teams to support model validation, clash detection and as-built model development.
  • Manage survey data workflows through the 12D Synergy Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Maintain survey, scanning and drone equipment registers, ensuring calibration, servicing and compliance requirements are met.
  • Provide survey-related advice and support to project stakeholders, engineers and construction teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Surveyor or Project Surveyor position on large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial or data centre projects.
