The Project
The Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline Construction project is delivered by the CPB Contractors and Nacap Joint Venture (CNJV) for Seqwater.
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Scheduler for this unique water infrastructure pipeline project (Toowoomba to Warrick) initially Brisbane headquarters based, then mobilising to Toowoomba in early 2027 on a 5:2 DIDO roster.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join a major water infrastructure project delivering critical civil engineering works. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This role will work closely with project manager, construction manager, engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and client to provide accurate planning, progress tracking, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain the logic-linked Primavera P6 programme aligned with the baseline, milestones and work breakdown structure.
- Integrate design, approvals, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, handover and close-out.
- Maintain calendars, coding, logic, constraints, milestones, critical paths, float analysis and schedule narratives.
- Validate progress with delivery teams and subcontractors against objective evidence.
- Issue weekly and monthly updates, forecasts, progress curves, milestone status and critical-path commentary.
- Prepare practical look-ahead programmes covering site priorities, readiness and short-term commitments.
- Identify delays, risks and constraints, then develop recovery, resequencing and mitigation options
- Align the programme with design, procurement, permits, access, stakeholder commitments and construction methodology.
- Support resource, production and cost planning using quantities, crew outputs, plant needs and schedule feasibility.
- Assure schedule quality, records and auditability, including logic, progress, assumptions and approved changes.
- Support variations, extensions of time and delay analysis through programme records, comparisons and time-impact assessments.
- Review subcontractor and supplier programmes for logic, interfaces, milestones and alignment.
- Lead planning workshops and communicate programme priorities and constraints.
- Ensure programme outputs meet contract, project-plan, reporting and Client requirements.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Relevant qualification in engineering, construction, project management, quantity surveying or a related field.
- Proven scheduling or planning experience on civil, pipeline, water, utility or linear infrastructure projects.
- Advanced Primavera P6 capability; Microsoft Project and advanced Excel are desirable.
- Strong construction sequencing, production planning, critical-path and project-controls knowledge.
- Experience integrating civil, pipeline, crossing, structural, mechanical, electrical, testing and commissioning works.
- Experience in baselining, progress measurement, forecasting, reporting and recovery planning.
- Working knowledge of Australian construction contracts, change control, extensions of time and delay analysis.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, quantities, procurement data, methodologies and subcontractor programmes.
- Strong judgement, attention to detail and confidence challenging unsupported progress or forecasts.
- Clear communication with site teams, management, clients and subcontractors.
- Ability to work collaboratively under competing site and reporting priorities.
Desired Experience
- Water pipeline, reservoir, pump-station or similar infrastructure experience.
- Experience with earned value, Power BI or project-controls dashboards.
- Experience supporting forensic delay and time-impact assessments.
- Practical construction-site and workface-planning experience
