About North East Link 

The Spark Consortium has been selected to deliver the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

 

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

 

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our head offices. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all offices are managed effectively as well as running the office events. This is an exciting opportunity to drive culture initiatives across the project and to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of a high-profile infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of both Level 1, 436 and 452 Johnston St office.
  • Oversee and coordinate the effective day-to-day running of the reception and facilities/administration functions and provide support and training to the junior staff.
  • Be across Lease Agreements for both offices, end of lease dates. When lease ends, Make Good of office to be undertaken before handed back to Landlord
  • From scratch office set, and where required coordinate office and team relocations, creating floor plans, desk allocation spread sheet.
  • Engage subcontractors and other trades
  • Coordinate shutdown period and works within offices
  • Responsible for ordering appliances, office furniture
  • Responsible for overseeing day to day cleaning team of main offices
  • Responsible of emailing office distribution groups any comms regarding any works, things they need to know.  
  • Build strong relationships with Knight Frank building management team
  • Oversee & implement any project events i.e. Bright Day, Christmas party
  • An integral part of the continued growth in good culture by promoting the projects mantras, running the culture champions meetings and implementing the culture initiatives.
  • Involved in the creation, implementation & rollout of the 2024 cultural engagement calendar
  • Monthly Forecasting, cost control, budgets and spend of Office and Culture budgets
  • The ‘Culture Conduit’ between the sites- to continue looking at more effective and efficient ways of ensuring we are applying best practices across the whole project, and creating a collaborative culture.
  • Site visits to understand more about the culture across the different sites- creating feedback forums
  • Chair Spark United monthly team meeting, site admins, receptionists at site and office, support the teams and ensure consistent events across the project.   
  • Attend, support, and run the Culture Champions meetings and calendar.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a corporate or commercial setting.
  • Passion for culture, dealing with stakeholders and driving initiatives. 
  • Strong knowledge of facility operations, maintenance practices, and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office applications.
