Systems Connect (an unincorporated Joint Venture between CPB Contractors and UGL Engineering) is delivering the Line-wide Works (LW Works) package of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest (SMCSW) project, which will extend Sydney Metro Northwest to the CBD and beyond to Bankstown. SMCSW is being delivered through a suite of contracts for the tunnels, stations,

The package includes:

  • The fit out of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest tunnels and stations including provision of track, overhead wiring, HV reticulation, tunnel ventilation, fire services tunnel services
  • Delivery of bulk power feeds to meet the Sydney Metro City & Southwest high voltage reticulation and traction power requirements
  • Expansion of the Sydney Metro Trains Facility at Tallawong & the delivery of a new train stabling and infrastructure maintenance facility at Sydenham

We are seeking a Senior Community Stakeholder Advisor to support the team in the delivery of strategic stakeholder engagement. The role will focus on supporting activities relating to the engagement and relations with key project stakeholders, such as the NSW Government and the greater community, local government, interface contractors and internal stakeholders.

About the Role

  • Support the team in delivering community and stakeholder engagement for Sydney Metro City and Southwest ensuring key deliverables are achieved and the reputation of the JV and CIMIC Group is maintained.
  • Support and implement strategic engagement plan/s and associated tools and tactics, ensuring multi-channel communication strategies are in place
  • Ensure good governance and appropriate systems are in place to manage key business risks and retain corporate knowledge from a stakeholder/community engagement perspective.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and responsive communication services are provided to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop links between key work streams to ensure the communication component is appropriately embedded into the processes and practices (as relevant) across the JV project team.
  • In collaboration with TfNSW, coordinate the delivery and release of public information relating to the project. 
  • Identify and proactively manage emerging and sensitive issues and provide strategic and operational advice to the project leadership team and TfNSW (as relevant) on internal and external communications issues.

About You

  • A recognised qualification relevant to the position
  • Demonstrated communications and community relations experience, preferably working on major infrastructure projects;
  • High level client management, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working as a member of a high performing team, with a clear focus on the delivery of planned outcomes.
  • Experience in coordinating project communications deliverables, contributing to problem solving and decision making in a complex team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
