About the Role
It’s an exciting time at Aurizon as we continue to grow nationally. We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Controller & Treasurer division. This role focuses on capital accounting & reporting, providing a fantastic opportunity to work in a structured, dynamic environment. You will support the team lead in delivering comprehensive financial accounting services and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes, with a focus on capital expenditure.
- Coordinate Aurizon Investment Committee (AIC) meetings and prepare reporting packs.
- Focus on capital and governance processes, including ensuring compliance with external and internal reporting.
- Analyse financial data to support decision-making and balance sheet forecasting.
- Provide support and insights to business partners as required.
- Engage actively with the business to assist in identifying areas for process improvement in tools, systems, and financial management.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced financial professional with:
- A tertiary qualification in a finance-related discipline (mandatory).
- Certification as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Chartered Management Accountant (CMA) (mandatory).
- Experience with SAP and familiarity with capital forums and reporting processes (preferred).
- A strong background in financial accounting, particularly in capital accounting.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
