About the role:

Aurizon is looking for an outstanding and influential Maintenance Leader, focused on delivering excellence in safety and operational performance. Flying out of Perth and working a 4-3-5-2 FIFO roster out of our Murrin Murrin depot, you will optimise organisational productivity, driving best practice in process improvement and supporting the development of your people. 

  • Planning production , developing budgets (resources and materials) and executing the plan safely and efficiently
  • Providing leadership and coaching to achieve customer expectations through a results driven, customer focused and commercial culture
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Apply conceptual and analytical skills and utilise key performance indicators to optimise delivery of services on time in full to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure performance is measured and meets or exceeds business requirements
  • Maintain up to date training and key competencies across all teams
  • Build positive workplace relationships with all stakeholders
  • Take accountability and ownership when driving your outcomes focused team

About you:

You’re a natural collaborator with a passion for leading a diverse and technical maintenance team. When it comes to leadership, you lead by example, are intuitive and have a vested interest in development to ensure you’re getting the best out of your team. You value stakeholder engagement and this will be key to ensure the success of the facility.

In respects of the technicalities, you’ll need:

  • You will have the ability to effectively engage supervisors and team members, set clear direction and provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Extensive experience with earthmoving/haulage equipment.
  • Well-developed safety management skills and knowledge including incident investigation, safety interactions, near miss reporting and behaviour-based safety leadership.
  • Experience in managing a team and fostering a positive atmosphere in the workplace.
  • The ability to guide your teams with quick decisions
  • Knowledge of contemporary maintenance, supply chain & reliability processes
  • Project management skills: managing resources, budgets and timelines on key business projects
  • Well-developed safety management skills and knowledge including incident investigation, safety interactions, near miss reporting and behaviour-based safety leadership.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship management skills and a strong business acumen.
  • You will Champion a safety culture which promotes I Know Safe, I Choose Safe methodology
